It all started when...

...My father, Frank, came to Australia in 1972 from the small island of Sicily to settle with his wife after travelling Europe and Asia completing work ranging from small housing developments in PNG to large scale infrastructure projects in Germany.

Once settled in the great country that is Australia, Frank started a formwork company called Alpetros No. 3 in 1974 and the company is still going strong today. Frank has delivered quality workmanship to some of Queensland's largest construction companies such as Hutchinson Builders, McNab's, Bulkbuild, etc. for over 30 years.

At the age of 73, Frank is now looking to retire and pass on the reigns to myself under the new company name Boxform. The new name reflects a new generation of construction based services where we aim to raise the bar in terms of quality workmanship and efficiency.

Over the last 16 years, I have been gradually taking over the responsibility of site management through to company management. When I was only a teenager, my father bought me on to site first to install fillet mould in beams and balconies, to general labouring tasks, working from the ground up. I then completed my apprenticeship as a carpenter, applied for my heavy vehicle license and learnt to drive cranes which lead me to start Avanti Crane Hire as a side business whilst I completed projects for Alpetros.

My focus in the last five years has been to receive my builder's license and learn more about how to manage Alpetros, knowing that one day I would run my own company. I was born into a construction family, formwork is in my blood. I intend to carry on the family tradition and bring a fresh approach to the construction industry.
